Prince Harry plans to ‘stop’ Netflix from portraying him in The Crown: Biographer

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, reportedly wants to prevent Netflix from portraying his life as he and Meghan Markle make their exit from the royal family.

“Harry, when I went to interview him in the palace, the first thing he said to me when he shook my hand was, ‘Are you watching The Crown?'” biographer Angela Levin told BBC on Sunday about a 2018 meeting she had with him for her book Harry: Conversations with the Prince. “He said, ‘I’m going to make sure I stop it before they get to me.'”

Netflix has already expressed its interest in working with the couple. “Who wouldn’t be interested? Yes, sure,” Ted Sarandos, the company’s chief content officer, said when he was asked about collaborating with the former senior royals.

The Sussexes are reportedly looking to style their post-royal career after their friends, Barack and Michelle Obama. “They have found huge commercial success without actually looking like they are getting their hands dirty, to put it bluntly, and retaining their popularity,” a source said about the couple’s love of the Obamas.

In a video that resurfaced this month, Harry appeared to be promoting his wife’s voice-over abilities to Disney CEO Bob Iger. The head of Disney said that “we’d love to try” and work with her after Harry made his pitch.
