Paintings for dogs and cats in Canton

Some people are closer to their pets than they are their own friends and family. Baltimore painter Gil Jawetz understands those bonds and immortalizes the pet-owner relationship in his exhibit Human(e) Beings at Canton?s Yellow Dog Tavern.

The exhibit, up through July 28, marks the Tavern?s one-year anniversary with 16 new pieces from Jawetz as well as older favorites. To give back to his four-legged subjects, Jawetz will donate 5 percent of the show?s sales to the Baltimore animal rescue group Recycled Love.
