Would-be robber burnt alive

A taxi passenger burned to death in Bowie after throwing flammable liquid on the cab’s driver in a failed robbery attempt.

A taxi picked up a fare at the Largo Metro station about 5 p.m. on Friday before driving to the 4200 block of Northview Drive, according to a Washington Post report.

When the cab arrived, the passenger demanded money from the driver, then hit him and threw the flammable liquid on him, which caught fire.

The driver escaped with minor injuries, while the passenger’s body was burned beyond recognition. The body was take to the medical examiner’s office.
