Anyone familiar with D.C. politics knows November’s mayoral election is essentially guaranteed to go to the newly minted Democratic primary winner Vincent Gray. But one Washington-area organization decided to go ahead and award the mayor’s office to Gray Wednesday morning.
The Greater Washington Board of Trade sent out an e-mail congratulating “Mayor-Elect” Gray on his successful campaign for the city’s top elected post.
The Board of Trade is an association of local business and nonprofit leaders.
“We congratulate [Gray] on his win, and look forward to working with him over the next four years,” the e-mail said.
