CDC Refuses Senator’s Request for Briefing on Ombudsman’s Activities

Center for Disease Control officials are refusing a request for a briefing by Sen. Charles Grassley, R-IA, who is the Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Finance Committee. Grassley is not pleased. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has details.

The refusal may have something to do with the fact Grassley and other senators, notably Sen. Tom Coburn, R-OK, have been casting a critical eye on what they believe to be CDC’s wasteful spending and mismanagement.

Telling a powerful senator to go take a hike is not a move calculated to make things any easier for the CDC come budget time.
