Congress will be looking for answers about the bungled launch of Obamacare. And, as David Morgan and Susan Cornwell of Reuters report, it has someone who was, heretofore, merely an obscure bureaucrat in its sights. Seems that a couple of months ago, she “assured a congressional oversight panel that work was on track to roll out a tested website that would make it easy for Americans to enroll in affordable health insurance coverage.”
“This is a large and complicated endeavor that I am proud to lead, and every decision is being made by my prior work experience,” Marilyn Tavenner testified on August 1 before the House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee, describing the launch of the Healthcare.gov website.
Fine. But if an investigation is called for, shouldn’t someone be asking questions of the senior government official who assured all Americans, not just those in Congress, that “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Period.”
