House Speaker Paul Ryan said Friday that President Trump’s comments that some African nations are “shithole countries” were “very unfortunate.”

“I read those comments later last night,” said Ryan, R-Wis. “Very unfortunate, unhelpful.”

Ryan made the comments during a WisPolitics event in Milwaukee.
