The cure for the common public relations and marketing firm is seemingly found in Baltimore City design and marketing boutique, Vitamin Inc.
Founded in 2002, Vitamin employs five people with about 20 active clients. President Mike Karfakis said the one thing that sets Vitamin apart is the fact that they have the talent of a large agency with the customer service techniques of a boutique.
“Large agencies offer a large infrastructure model, boutique firms do one of those things very well, so there isn?t much of a choice from a client perspective,” Karfakis said.
“When you have best of breed, a lot can be done with seemingly few employees,” Karfakis said. “We look for the level of talent that is very seasoned. We?re very slow to hire.”
“Because everything is housed in one firm, I?m able to get everything I need in an easy manner for me,” said Susan Glasgow, the executive director of The Hearing and Speech Agency.
