Trump hits back at Cruz convention speech

CLEVELAND — Donald Trump is hitting back at the speech Ted Cruz delivered at the Republican National Convention, which was expected to be in honor of the nominee.

In a tweet on Wednesday, after Cruz’s speech, Trump said, “Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn’t honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal!”

Cruz, who was the last serious rival to Trump standing throughout the GOP primary, did not endorse Trump in his speech at the convention and only mentioned the new nominee in passing to congratulate him.

The Texas senator was booed toward the end of his speech as it became clear he would not be endorsing Trump.
