HOUSTON (AP) — Federal authorities have arrested a Japanese man who they say molested a female passenger on an international flight to Houston.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson said this week that the 36-year-old man was arrested Aug. 21 upon the arrival of a United Airlines flight from Narita, Japan, to George Bush Intercontinental Airport. A 21-year-old woman seated next to the man tells authorities he touched her breast and took a cellphone photo under her skirt.
An FBI agent says the man admitted to groping and photographing the woman because “it humiliated her.”
A judge ruled this week there is probable cause to hold him. It’s unclear if he’s been charged.
He faces up to two years in federal prison if convicted.
