Dupont Circle to have Tuesday traffic trouble

Mark it down: Dupont Circle and the streets that feed into it will likely be clogged on Tuesday.

D.C. will cut the power to stoplights around the traffic circle in Northwest at around 10 a.m. so crews can upgrade the “signalization system.” The city says that the traffic signals will function again by rush hour, but for much of the day, drivers will be at the mercy of traffic control officers.

The District Department of Transportation warned that drivers may want to consider alternate routes.

Some of the District’s busiest streets — including Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire avenues — flow into Dupont Circle, along with 19th and P streets.
