A Lanham man was sentenced Friday to two years in prison for ripping off $300,000 in an identity theft scheme.

From 2008 to 2010, Oladayo Oladokun, 37, and others stole the credit card and personal information and took over the accounts of 25 victims, prosecutors said. The conspirators bought goods and services, deposited checks in bank accounts opened in the names of other victims, cashed checks and purchased money orders.

Oladokun admitted in open court that he knew that his victims were actual persons, prosecutors said.
