Alexandria is due to celebrate its new express bus service to the Mark Center Tuesday afternoon.
The city will host a dedication ceremony and first-time ride for the new DASH bus that will take workers from the Mark Center to the King Street Metro station and back. The ceremony is slated for 2:15 p.m.
The bus line is just one of the initiatives local officials launched over the last few months to deal with impending gridlock around the Mark Center as thousands of new Defense Department employees move in to the new offices near the intersection of Interstate 395 and Seminary Road.
