RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — About 11,400 Virginia homes and businesses remain without power as a result of the June 29 storm that knocked over trees and snapped utility lines.
Almost all of those are Appalachian Power customers. Dominion said Sunday that it had restored all known outages caused by the storm with the exception of a few in Charlottesville, Rockbridge County and the Covington/Clifton Forge area.

Appalachian Power said restoration is taking longer in the hard-hit Roanoke, Lynchburg and Lovingston areas because of significant damage to the utility’s facilities. The utility says power won’t be restored in those areas until Monday.
