WHAT: After President Obama spent $80 billion encouraging development of “green jobs,” Reed explained the slow growth of employment in the clean energy sector by saying, “It just took a long time to get it going. And just when it was getting going, these recovery monies are running out.” WHY IT’S DIM: Throwing good money after bad is always dim.

CURE: Resist the urge to subsidize industries favored by politicians.
