While the Republican heavies snipe at each other over who is the real conservative in the race, Barry Goldwater is rolling over in his grave. (He’s probably gotten a lot of exercise during George W.’s tenure.) The candidates are falling all over themselves in trying to claim the mantle of Ronald Reagan’s legacy. That leaves you to wonder, what would the Great Communicator think of these guys? It’s looking like conservative voters will — again — be left with having to choose between the lesser of two evils in next year’s general election … especially, if Hillary Clinton is the other candidate!
This was the first time I’ve ever caricatured Reagan. I’ve seen many other cartoonists’ caricatures of the Gipper, but I wanted to make it my own. I hope it’s recognizable to people.
