Clinton camp homes in on Trump University

Hillary Clinton’s campaign made a parody infomercial for Trump University, the now-defunct real estate program over which Donald Trump is being sued.

The ad released Saturday collects news reports on the university, which offered real estate advice but which some former students allege in a class-action lawsuit was a scam.

“Don’t miss this once in a lifetime chance to give your hard earned money to an alleged billionaire,” the ad states.

The new line of attack suggests the Clinton campaign intends to use the Trump University lawsuit as a weapon against the presumptive GOP nominee. The case will not be heard until just after Election Day, and it promises to dog Trump throughout the campaign.

The ad goes through the three easy steps to get rich like Trump. Step 1 is signing up and step 2 is paying for Trump University “at the amazing price of everything you have.” And, “Step 3: there is no Step 3, you actually won’t learn anything,” the ad said.

Trump has said that the university is legitimate and has criticized the federal judge presiding over the case, Gonzalo Curiel, for his Mexican heritage. Trump noted that Curiel isn’t being fair with him because of Trump’s positions on immigration, such as building a wall with Mexico.

Curiel is from Indiana but his parents are from Mexico. Trump’s comments earned widespread condemnation from both Democrats and Republicans.
