Several fire stations in Howard County will hold open houses, with station tours, apparatus displays and kids?s activities as a part of Fire Prevention Week. This year?s Fire Prevention Week theme centers on cooking fires, since cooking is the leading cause of home fires and injuries.
The Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department at 4150 Old Montgomery Road will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department at 5000 Signal Bell Lane will host an open house from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday.
