ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — An old 11-story hotel building near the state Capitol is set to be demolished this week.
Columbia Development plans to implode the brick-and-concrete Wellington Annex on Thursday to make way for a $66.5 million downtown Albany convention center.
City officials plan temporary street closures around the downtown demolition site after the Thursday morning rush hour.
The annex was built as an expansion to the Hotel Wellington in the 1920s and has been vacant for years.
