BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — State regulators have postponed voting on whether to roll back the benefits of incentives to add solar paneling to homes.
The Louisiana Public Service Commission heard testimony Wednesday from homeowners, manufacturers and utility company officials. PSC Commissioner Clyde Holloway, of Forest Hill, had asked the panel to join him in changing rules regarding “net metering” — the way owners of solar panels have their bills credited for the amount of electricity created by the panels.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/ZrKg9g ) homeowners testified they installed the panels based on the promises made by the PSC that Holloway now wants to change.

Holloway says the incentives amounted to most utility customers subsidizing the few customers who have installed solar panels. He says he’ll bring the matter up for a vote in May.
