HARTLAND, N.Y. (AP) — A driver is in serious condition at a hospital after hitting a utility pole and severing it in half in Hartland.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office says the driver failed to negotiate a curve while traveling on Ridge Road. He ran onto a shoulder before striking the utility pole. It happened just after 5 p.m. Monday.
The driver, who has not been identified, was airlifted to a hospital.
The accident is being investigated.
