Armenia has a new presence in Washington, D.C.

Birthright Armenia opened its Washington alumni chapter this month, celebrating with cocktails and the sounds of DJ Raffi on the roof of the Donovan House on June 11. More than 150 people attended the opening.

The chapter’s head, Natalie Grigorian, said she hopes the chapter brings the D.C. Armenian community closer to its identity.

The non-profit Birthright Armenia exists to give Armenian youth the chance to volunteer, work or study back in Armenia.
