BCSB receives $10.8 million federal investment
BCSB Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Baltimore County Savings Bank, said this week that it has received $10.8 million under the Treasury Department’s Capital Purchase Program.
The program is intended to support banks the government deems “healthy” and encourage them to continue lending. The investment represents 3 percent of the company’s assets as of Sept. 30.
“This infusion of capital provides an additional measure of liquidity that will enable us to help both new and existing loan and deposit customers manage through these difficult times as well as enable us to continue our long-term initiatives,” bank President Joseph Bouffard said.
