Trump mocks ‘JV interruptions’ during economic speech

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump poked fun Tuesday at the seemingly unending string of protesters who showed up at his speech before the Detroit Economic Club the day before, calling them “JV protesters.”

When asked by Fox News about the protesters — who at one point interrupted 12 times in 20 minutes — Trump echoed President Obama’s comment from January 2014 calling the Islamic State the “jayvee team.”

“Who are those people interrupting you yesterday?” asked “Fox and Friends” host Steve Doocy.

“Well it sounds like Hillary people I guess,” Trump said. “It was sort of interesting, but they don’t have the same spirit as Bernie. Bernie’s people — those were serious interruptions.”

“These were just sort of, as Obama would say, these were JV interruptions,” Trump said.

Overall, Trump was interrupted 14 times throughout his speech. Thirteen of those were by women in attendance, with one man also being kicked out for yelling at Trump about his hand size.
