A District man was found guilty of supplying heroin to drug dealers who operated around a Southeast Washington housing complex.

Heyward Sanders, 56, faces a maximum of 60 years at his sentencing scheduled for July 14.

According to prosecutors, Sanders supplied the heroin to a group operating out of the Potomac Gardens housing complex between 2008 and 2010. Several co-defendants already have pleaded guilty in the case.

The defendants were accused of distributing more than $230,000 worth of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine in the District and Maryland. A police raid in June yielded 860 grams of heroin, about $8,000 in cash and two handguns.
