A bill to repeal Obamacare will be announced by mid-March at the latest, President Trump said during a news conference Thursday.
The timeline is a bit later than the one announced by House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., during a separate press conference Thursday. Ryan said a repeal plan would be announced after the House returns at the end of February from its President’s Day recess.
Trump added that Congress plans to work on tax reform after taking on healthcare.
“For budgetary reasons, we have to submit the healthcare [part] soon,” he said.
After submitting a plan in early or mid-March, Congress will shift to tax reform.
