In new ad, Trump says Sanders ‘caved’

Donald Trump is using Bernie Sanders’ endorsement of Hillary Clinton against him in a new ad.

The ad, posted on the Republican presidential nominee’s Instagram account Thursday afternoon, begins with simple white text over a black background reading in all capital letters: “Being president you need to handle pressure.”

It then cuts to an article on the hack of Democratic National Committee that shows hostility and an attempt to undercut Sanders’ presidential campaign. The emails were released after Sanders had formally ended his campaign and endorsed Clinton.

Meanwhile, Sanders is heard saying in the ad, to boos, “We have got to elect Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine.”

“Some candidates cannot handle the pressure,” text then reads, before the ad cuts away to an altercation at a Sanders rally in which he looks visibly confused as to what to do and backs away from the microphone as two women in protest yelp in front of him.

The ad then cuts to text reading: “It’s time for a leader who won’t back down.”

Trump is then seen accepting the presidential nomination last week at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

“I say these words to you tonight: I am with you, and I will fight for you, and I will win for you,” Trump says to cheers and applause.

The ad concludes with the classic Trump 2016 campaign line: “Make America Great Again.”

The ad comes hours before Clinton is set to give her own acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia Thursday night.
