SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) — Experts will try to identify what type of bees stung a man who was mowing near a West Texas convenience store in an attack that sent him to a hospital.
San Angelo police say several people who tried to help the man Wednesday were also stung and required medical attention.
Lt. Tony Huston says the bees were traced to the wall of the convenience store. Authorities believe the bees were in a restroom not open to the public.
Police say the hospitalized man, whose name wasn’t released, was in stable condition. Three women who were nearby tried to help the victim and they were also stung, but suffered lesser injuries.
Several San Angelo firefighters were stung while rescuing the man and they were treated at the scene.
