UPDATE: School officials have canceled Thurday’s classes at Minnie Howard due to the water main break. Students will be sent home on buses starting at around 10:15 a.m.
An early morning water main break has flooded the 3600 block of King Street in Alexandria, diverting traffic and springing a group of ninth graders from their morning classes.
Students at the Minnie Howard branch of T.C. Williams High School were without water. School officials shipped them to the school’s main King Street campus for breakfast.
The water main break is also causing delays on the DASH AT 5 and 6 lines.
