Constellation Energy said Friday it has closed on a $1.23 billion credit facility with UBS Loan Finance LLC and RBS Securities Corp.
The line of credit was originally $2 billion, and was reduced with other commitments from MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co., Constellation’s partner in a $4.7 billion merger deal.
The company had also received an additional $350 million investment by MidAmerican in addition to the $1 billion invested by the Iowa company when the merger was announced.
“We believe our progress to date … provides sufficient liquidity to manage our business and successfully close our transaction,” Constellation Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Mayo Shattuck said in a statement.
