Lead found in vendors

Tricky trinkets in vending machines could poison small children, the Baltimore City Health Department warned. The items identified ? including rings with pink or plain cubes and a horseshoe painted pink and green ? were sold in vending machines at Food-A-Rama on 3801 Eastern Ave., according to an announcement.

Health inspectors tested them between 47,000 and 55,000 parts per million of lead. A city regulation bans products containing more than 1,200 parts per million lead.
