DeSoto chamber chief resigns

MANSFIELD, La. (AP) — DeSoto Parish Chamber of Commerce executive director Robert Mik has resigned his position.

The Times reports (http://bit.ly/YVxakk ) that Mik was arrested in March and booked with aggravated assault.

Chamber board President Laurie Williamson said no decisions have been made on the selection process for a new executive director. Williamson would not comment further.

Mansfield police say they arrested Mik, 48, on March 15 after the report of an incident outside the chamber office.

It was unclear whether Mik has an attorney.
