Zoomerang, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore?s annual black-tie gala, will take place on 7:30 p.m. to midnight today. The event?s theme, “Top Hat, Tusks and Tails,” is a celebration of the zoo?s two African elephants, Dolly and Anna. Several of Baltimore?s restaurants and caterers will serve food and drinks, and live music will be played by the Van Dykes, Escapade, David Bach and Mambo Combo. New this year to Zoomerang are camel rides. Guests will be able to ride the camels or have their picture taken with them. A silent auction will also be held, featuring a painting by a zoo chimpanzee named Betsy. Tickets are $250. For more information, visit www.marylandzoo.org.
