SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Air National Guard unit based in the Syracuse area will be conducting a mass accident response exercise involving military personnel and local emergency responders.
National Guard officials say the 174th Attack Wing’s exercise will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday and last for two hours at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base in East Syracuse. The scenario will revolve around a helicopter crash at the base.
Also taking part are local fire and police departments, state police, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department and emergency medical services.
