Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore said Tuesday that the reason why Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton got embroiled in her email scandal was because years of attacks from Republicans have given her a mild case of posttraumatic stress disorder.
“She wanted the private (email) server. Why? Because she has been attacked and abused relentlessly for decades. So, she is a little gun-shy. She has maybe a little PTSD from it,” Moore said. He made the comments during a conference call hosted by the Howard Dean-founded group Democracy for America intended to rouse millennial voters to get out and vote for Clinton.
Moore added: “She was thinking what you would think: ‘I don’t want my private emails to my daughter, to my husband, to my friends —You know, I don’t want anyone to have access to my private life because I have suffered enough.’ I don’t blame her for that.”
The Department of Veterans Affairs states: “PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) is a mental health problem that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event, like combat, a natural disaster, a car accident, or sexual assault.”
Clinton has never said she was diagnosed with it.
