Fairfax rescue team deployed to North Carolina for hurricane response

Fairfax County’s elite search and rescue team is going to North Carolina to help in the chaos expected from Huricane Irene.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is shipping the team to Fort Bragg, N.C. The team consists of four dogs and 76 paramedics, structural engineers, physicians and rescue specialists.

The team last deployed to Japan in March after the tsunami.
