The U.S.-led United Nations Command released video footage Tuesday showing of a dramatic escape a North Korean soldier who defected to South Korea earlier this month.

The seven-minute video shows North Korean soldiers firing at the fleeing soldier as he attempts to cross the Demilitarized Zone. That soldier was reportedly shot five times and the video later shows thermal footage of South Korean soldiers pulling him to safety.
