Arlington to expand Bikeshare

The Arlington County Board agreed to expand the county’s Capital Bikeshare program Saturday, using more than $1 million in federal grants to pay for 30 new stations and 192 bikes.

Some of the station locations were selected in meetings with the public this summer and will add to the stations already in the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor. Other stations have yet to be determined, but residents will be given a chance to weigh in.

The new stations will bring Arlington’s total number of stations up to 70. The decision comes less than a week after Alexandria voted to introduce Capital Bikeshare to its streets.
