Coming off of yesterday’s poll that showed Republican Marco Rubio with a commanding lead over independent Charlie Crist and Democrat Kendrick Meek in the Senate race there, new polls from Reuters/Ipsos and Rasmussen are showing comparable numbers for Rubio. Here’s Rasmussen:
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Florida finds Rubio with 41% support. Crist, the state’s current governor, earns 30% of the vote, with Democrat Kendrick Meek still running third with 23%. Two percent (2%) like another candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.
To top it off, Republican Rick Scott has taken his first (very slim) lead against Democrat Alex Sink in the race for the Florida governorship, according to the Reuters/Ipsos poll:
The poll
found the race to replace Crist as governor is very close with Republican Rick Scott and Democrat Alex Sink statistically tied, Scott with 47 percent and Sink with 45 percent.
The lead is small, but it could be showing the Scott campaign’s momentum after a pretty nasty primary with secretary of state Bill McCollum. State CFO Sink has had a modest lead in the polls since both she and Scott became their party’s nominees.
