Texas man pleads guilty to using gay dating app to commit hate crimes

A Texas man pleaded guilty to federal hate crime charges, admitting his role in a scheme that used a dating app to target gay men for violent crimes.

Daniel Jenkins, 22, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas Wednesday to plead guilty to hate crimes, kidnapping, carjacking, and a gun charge, according to the Justice Department. Jenkins could face up to 26 years in prison.
