ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Direct-sales giant Amway Corp. is reopening its West Michigan headquarters complex after closing it for several days in anticipation of flooding.
MLive.com reports (http://bit.ly/ZMbzXZ ) the company from Saturday to Monday closed the complex where about 4,000 people work in Kent County’s Ada Township, outside Grand Rapids.

The company credits 30,000 sandbags placed in the area and concrete berms used to make flood walls with protecting its facilities from the rain-swollen Grand River.
Amway paid employees for their regularly scheduled shifts and some worked remotely from home. The river flooded parts of downtown Grand Rapids and other areas.
