Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden blasted President Trump during the last stop of his post-debate blitz of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Biden, in an angry address interrupted by the odd passing train and the former vice president’s cough, described Trump as a “self-entitled,” “self-serving” president, who believed everything was about him.
“He thinks that if he just yells louder and louder, throws out lie after lie after lie, he’ll get his way. He thinks we’ll forget. Well, he picked the wrong guy. I don’t forget,” he said of Trump in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Biden was specifically referring to Trump’s coronavirus pandemic response after taped conversations between the president and veteran reporter Bob Woodward revealed he knew of the outbreak’s seriousness as early as February but publicly played it down.
The line prompted a man at the drive-in rally to shout back: “We’ll remember in November!”
Biden, the two-term vice president and 36-year Delaware senator, embarked on a seven-stop train tour of the Rust Belt Wednesday to talk about his economic plans in a bid to woo back voters who supported his old boss, former President Barack Obama, before casting a ballot for Trump in 2016.
“I’ll do what Trump didn’t. I’ll fight for you. Not for the corporations, you,” he said.
Biden, 77, also slammed Trump for his determination to dismantle Obamacare. His administration is party to a Nov. 10 Supreme Court case questioning the healthcare law’s constitutionality amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
“If you made a movie about this, they would think it’s fake — it couldn’t be possible,” he said.
Biden’s whistle-stop tour started Wednesday morning in Cleveland after his chaotic first debate against Trump. That evening, he said, was a “truly unique experience,” calling the president’s behavior and comments, particularly those disparaging the military, “despicable.”
