Actor and film producer Kirk Cameron is excited following the recent box office success of his Lifemark film that celebrates life and advocates adoption.
The anti-abortion film premiered in theaters nationwide on Sept. 9, earning more than $4.3 million to date and scoring as high as No. 2 at the box office.
“THANK YOU ALL!!!” Cameron captioned a video message celebrating Lifemark’s success. “LIFEMARK #2 MOVIE. 97% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score!!”

Cameron said Lifemark was “actually picking up momentum” and thanked those who were going out and seeing the film that “celebrates and champions the preciousness of life and the beauty of adoption.”
“If you go to Rotten Tomatoes, you will find over a thousand people have reviewed the movie … and over a thousand people have given it 97%,” Cameron touted. “Which is amazing! It’s hard to get 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.”
Cameron said theaters have asked to continue showing Lifemark for another week because of the success.
Lifemark executive producer Stephen Kendrick said the film not only opens up the discussion for options beyond abortion but also challenges Christians about how to live out their faith.
“I think the pro-life message that is beautifully interwoven into this story is really packaged and a beautiful adoption story,” Kendrick told CBN. “And I think the church has an amazing opportunity in our generation to not only support women in crisis pregnancies, but we need to practice what James 1:27 says — that pure religion is to also take care of the widows and the orphans. And having been an adopted father and seeing how amazing that can be and knowing that God’s heart is for the orphan, we’re spiritually adopted when we place our faith in Christ. I think the church has an amazing opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus and our generation by reaching out and supporting adoption.”

Cameron previously noted that while Lifemark “isn’t about abortion,” Hollywood studios told him they steered clear of helping to distribute the film because of how it hints at the hot topic following the Supreme Court’s controversial decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
In the film’s opening weekend, Lifemark showed on only 1,500 screens and scored the No. 7 overall domestic box office spot while earning nearly $2.2 million.
