Museum hosting symposium on World War II

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — The Alaska State Museum in Juneau is hosting a symposium remembering World War II.

According to a news release, the event, scheduled for Oct. 6, will feature veterans who served in Alaska during the war. Life back at home in Juneau, the role of Alaska Natives in the war and the internment of Japanese-Americans also will be discussed. The event is in conjunction with the museum’s exhibits on the impacts of World War II in Alaska. Those exhibits will be up through Oct. 13.

Admission to the symposium is free, but seating will be limited.
