A federal judge gave Roger Stone permission on Wednesday to travel outside of Florida for “business opportunities,” paving the way for him to attend a strip club event in Memphis, Tenn., next month.
Before he can go, however, Stone must submit his “specific travel itinerary” to U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson. He also is not allowed to stray from that itinerary.
The order from Jackson says there are two trips Stone wishes to take: June 6-8 to Tennessee and July 18-22 in Illinois. The first coincides with a three-day stint by adult entertainer Janine Jericho at The Pony in Memphis.
The strip club announced last week on Facebook that Stone will be a celebrity judge along with “Manhattan Madam” Kristin Davis, who was convicted in the 2000s of running a high-end prostitution ring in New York City that claimed to have provided services to former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer.
The appearance at The Pony would provide Stone an opportunity to raise funds to pay legal fees he claims have driven him broke. He reportedly set up other gigs, including a paid speech at a strip club in Richmond, Va., this month.
Stone was arrested at his Florida home on Jan. 25 in a predawn raid by the FBI. He was later charged by special counsel Robert Mueller with lying to Congress, witness tampering, and obstructing justice. Stone was released on a $250,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty. He is set to go on trial starting Nov. 5.
