ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has accused a company that trains security guards of a scamming 15,000 people lured by phony job listings and false promises of jobs.

Schneiderman filed a suit against 1st Security Preparation & Placement in state Supreme Court in Manhattan on Wednesday.

There was no immediate comment from the New York City-based company.

The attorney general says he’s received more than 200 complaints about the company after it placed what he says were bogus ads for jobs on Craigslist and in New York City newspapers.

He says consumers responded to the ads and were told they were selected, but had to go through the company’s training first. The training cost $449 to $667.
