A Department of Health and Human Services official shared controversial content on her Twitter account, including an image in 2017 of former President Barack Obama and his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that said “our forefathers would have hung” them for treason, according to a new report.
The official, Ximena Barreto, also shared content in 2017 that characterized Obama as a “Muslim terrorist” and posted a tweet that called Obama a “pansy and a traitor,” CNN’s KFile reported.
Barreto, who started in December with the agency as deputy director of communications, has been put on leave after a liberal watchdog group uncovered that she had said Islam was a “cult” and promoted a conspiracy theory that Clinton and other top Democrats oversaw a child sex trafficking ring in the basement a D.C. pizzeria.
Additionally, Barreto’s “RepublicanChick” Twitter account revealed that she has used the hashtag #BanIslam on multiple occasions and also suggested that Clinton or the Democratic National Committee were responsible for the 2016 death of a DNC staffer, Seth Rich, by using hashtags #KilledByTheDNC, #HillaryBodyCount, and #ClintonBodyBags.
Barreto argued that French President Emmanuel Macron was a “political puppet” of the Rothschild family, as Obama and Clinton were puppets of liberal billionaire George Soros.
“Macron is just a political puppet of the Rothschilds, just like Obama and Hillary are Soros Puppets!” she wrote.
Soros and the Rothschilds are common subjects of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
An HHS spokesperson did not provide comments on the tweets KFile reported and emphasized that Barreta was on leave as they investigated the issue.
Barreto was a political pundit and Trump-supporting blogger before she joined the administration and at one point co-hosted a YouTube show, “The Right View by Deplorable Latinas.”
