Felicity Huffman is making a comeback to the acting scene after the college admissions scandal that saw her serve a few days in jail.
Huffman landed a leading role in an ABC comedy pilot, the network confirmed with multiple outlets on Monday.
The actress is slated to play a suddenly widowed woman who inherits her husband’s minor league baseball team. The series, which has yet to receive a title, is inspired by the life of Susan Savage, who owns California’s Sacramento River Cats, the minor league affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
Since only a pilot is set to be created so far, the series might never actually make it to the small screen.
Huffman, who’s appeared in the ABC series Sports Night, Desperate Housewives, and American Crime, has taken a hiatus since serving her prison sentence.
Huffman was charged with paying someone to change the answers on her daughter’s SAT so that she would get a higher score. Huffman pleaded guilty and issued an apology. She served 11 days in prison at a California minimum-security facility.
