COPT names new president of development, construction

Columbia-based Corporate Office Properties Trust on Monday announced the appointment of Wayne Lingafelter to president of development and construction services.

Lingafelter has served as senior vice president of development and construction services since May 2008. In his new role, Lingafelter will be responsible for leading the company’s development and construction efforts.

For the past 20 years, Lingafelter worked for Duke Realty Corp. in various roles, leading regional operations throughout the Midwest and its government solutions practice from Washington.

The company also announced the pending retirement on March 31 of Dwight Taylor, currently president of construction and development services. He has been appointed to chief executive officer of construction and development services until his retirement. He has served as president since September 1998.

Public policy institute holds tax code forum

The Maryland Public Policy Institute will host a policy forum titled “Economic Growth and the Maryland Tax Code” at the Maryland Inn in Annapolis on Jan. 12.

Former Maryland Govs. Marvin Mandel and Robert Ehrlich Jr. will join Donna Arduin of Arduin, Laffer & Moore Econometrics to discuss how implementing successful tax reforms depends on reining in the recent acceleration in the growth of government in Maryland.

The forum is scheduled to run from noon to 1:30 p.m.
