So who’s faster: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln or Roosevelt?

The Washington Nationals are holding their own 2012 Presidential Campaign this weekend with the audition — fittingly, over the Presidents Day weekend — for a few lucky fans to become this season’s crew of racing presidents.

The candidates have already been selected from a pool of applicants — sorry for any of you last-minute presidential hopefuls!

Candidates competing to fill the shoes of George, Tom, Abe and Teddy will have to perform a freestyle dance, run a 40-yard dash and run two Presidents Races from center field to the home dugout. (Word to the wise for any candidates out there: Don’t get stuck with the Teddy Roosevelt costume. That guy never wins.)

Each applicant also has to answer questions from a panel of Nationals staff members.

The race is on at 10 a.m. at Nationals Park on Saturday.
